ABOUT US |
 Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society welcomes water media artists of all experience levels. Founded in 1983, our purpose is to foster the advancement of and promote excellence in the art of watermedia painting. From our humble beginnings with 17 charter members, we have grown to about 200 members from a region spanning the southwest coast of Florida. Opportunities to participate include 2 to 3 juried exhibitions per year, some virtual and some located at regional art venues. We support our artist community with networking and learning opportunities in centrally located meetings (Sarasota/Bradenton area). Because we are so spread out, we also encourage smaller satellite get togethers led by volunteers around the region. | Tanya Davis, NWS, BWS, FWS, FSWS-M is the President of Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society through May 2025. A Florida native and military spouse, Tanya has been a professional artist since 1989. She maintained a working studio at the Torpedo Factory Art Center for many years. She is a past President of the Torpedo Factory Artists Association and past board member of The Art League, both in Alexandria, VA. "I am profoundly grateful to all of the dedicated volunteers, leaders and organizers who have built and sustained FSWS. I look forward to a year of building community as we renew opportunities to gather in person and exchange ideas and techniques." Linda Wokoun, FSWS is the immediate past President of FSWS 2022-2023. An award-winning artist and a frequent exhibitor with FSWS, FWS, and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, she is also a popular workshop instructor throughout Florida. We are very fortunate to have Linda stay on as a Member at Large and Chair of our Planning Committee during the 2024-2025 term. |
