Artist Statement

With each painting, my goal is to share the experience. I would like my audience to feel the energy, whether it be the calm of a quiet evening on a lake or the wild urgency of a horserace.
I am mainly a watercolor artist who paints in a realistic style using traditional tools of paint, water, brushes, and paper. In addition, I create effects and textures using items like sponges, straws, salt, pallet knives and spray bottles.
A lover of nature. My inspiration comes from everyday experiences of the world around me. My subjects range from landscapes and florals to people and animals. Nearly anything can become a painting subject. I am drawn to patterns of light and shadow, colors, and textures.
