Painting a Dramatic Coastal Scene

REGISTRATION OPENS DECEMBER 1, 2023

Registration Closes February 1, 2024

Let's have fun learning a few new things and take the pressure off creating a finished painting.

Day 1: PRACTICE TECHNIQUES - The plan is for me to showcase how to paint the parts in a couple of different ways without the pressure of a finished painting, each on separate sheets of 140# paper. I will demonstrate and provide visuals then give you time to practice these new techniques under my watchful eye as I answer your questions followed by review of your results. This approach for Day 1 allows for us to focus on technique in a meaningful way.

Day 2: CREATING A FINISHED PAINTING - In this step-by-step approach, you will learn about focal point, unity, value change, color, design, composition and more. I will demonstration each stage and critique your work if you like. You may also review the videos for up to 3 weeks following the workshop and I will be available for follow-up questions during that time.
